Lindsey Sauer is a tax manager at McNair Interests and is a literacy point of light.

Lindsey's journey of making a difference began in 2018 when she became involved with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation while working on a pro bono project through her prior employer, Deloitte. The pro bono project took place in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey when the Foundation needed a plan to aid nonprofits, schools, and children affected by the disaster. She was inspired to become a volunteer through our Young Professionals Group.

"I wanted to get involved because reading has always been a passion of mine. The Bush family's and the Foundation's work in supporting young early childhood education and development resonated deeply with me,” Lindsey says.

For the past five years, Lindsey has co-chaired the auction for the Young Professionals Group's annual gala, working alongside like-minded young professionals to make a difference through this “party with a purpose.” Her volunteerism and hard work has helped to raise tens of thousands of dollars in support of high quality literacy programs and books for children in need.

When asked what she is most proud of, Lindsey says she is immensely proud of the growth of the Storybook Gala over the years. “The Gala has transformed into one of the premiere charity events in Houston led by young professionals, and the proceeds raised from the event have made a tangible impact in the community, especially for underserved children and their families.”

We are delighted to shine the light on Lindsey and are deeply grateful for her compassion for others and her incredible contributions for the past five years.
