New seasons bring new book releases! I am excited to share with you the books on my must-read list.

On October 17th #1 New York Times Bestselling author, John Grisham, will release his new legal thriller, The Exchange. This highly anticipated book features Mitch McDeere, whom you met more than 30 years ago in Grisham’s blockbuster The Firm. Mitch finds himself entangled in a hostage negotiation with global implications and places everyone he knows in danger. Be sure to check out the book for another suspenseful ride from this master of legal suspense.

Last month former Prairie View A&M president, Ruth Simmons, released her autobiography, Up Home: One Girl’s Journey, which depicts her life growing up in East Texas as the youngest of 12 siblings to parents of sharecroppers under Jim Crow. Her book introduces us to people who influenced and shaped her during the dawn of the civil rights movement and helped her pave a path to success that otherwise was unimaginable, much less attainable.

This week, award-winning journalist Yomi Adegoke released her debut standalone novel, The List. This fasted-paced, clever book explores the complicated intersection between the internet and real relationships told through the eyes of Ola Olajide, who discovers her fiancé’s name appears on a crowdsourced list with allegations of untold lies and secrets. This timely and relevant book will have you thinking long after the last page.
