YPG Builds Custom Book Nooks for Lantrip Elementary Classrooms

Over a dozen young professionals devoted an afternoon at Lantrip Elementary School to construct a dedicated reading space in classrooms ranging from first to third grade. In preparation for their reading nook service project, our Young Professionals Group gathered for an afternoon to sort 800 books, literary resources, classroom supplies, and teachers supplies.

Pairing off into eight classrooms, the Young Professionals divided and conquered their builds with bookshelves filled with brand-new books, colorful book bins, mindful mazes, motivational literacy posters, and even a "Lantrip" green rug to make it a little cozier. Volunteers also presented teachers with extra supplies and gifted their talents to help with classroom preparations for the new school year.

In total the Young Professionals Group achieved over fifty volunteer hours accompanied by notable members, including YPG President, Caitlin Rance, YPG Co-Service Chairs Megan Henson, Serjio Brereda, and Brianna Tillman.

The Lantrip Elementary School book nooks were made possible through funds raised by the 2022 Storybook Gala.
