A Focus on Family Literacy

We are proud to continue our longstanding partnership with Houston Area Urban League (HAUL) to educate, empower, and engage families in the literacy journey of their child. Through the Read and Rise™ program, families participate in training sessions at their local school to learn about ways in which they can inspire reading and learning.

John Robinson, Senior Director of Family Support Services, recently led a Read and Rise™ Family and Community Engagement Night at Lannie Roberts Elementary School in Bay City ISD in which hundreds of children and their parents attended. Families left with new books and a workbook with activities that were modeled during the event.

We thank the Houston Area Urban League and the Lannie Roberts Elementary School staff, students and families for making literacy a priority!
