Celebrating a Decade of Dedication by Phillips 66
We are delighted to announce that Phillips 66 will serve as Title Sponsor of A Celebration of Reading 2025, making it the 10th year the company has served in this capacity. We are grateful for Phillips 66’s incredible, long-standing commitment to our important mission and the greater Houston community. The company’s support of our annual signature event over the past decade has helped us raise awareness, increase volunteer engagement, and expand research-backed literacy programs to underserved children and families.
“When the corporate community invests time, talent and treasure to address some of our community’s most pressing issues, such as illiteracy, great things can be achieved,” said Julie Finck, Ph.D., President & CEO of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation.
“Phillips 66’s decade of difference-making is a testament to their commitment to corporate social responsibility. They are truly a point of light for others to follow.”
Phillips 66 has played an instrumental role in the success of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation through its title sponsorship of A Celebration of Reading and the significant investment the company has made in our literacy programs over the past decade. Initiatives such as My Home Library and Family Place Libraries and the strategic city-wide impact, like the creation of Houston’s Adult Literacy Blueprint, would simply not have been made possible without the generosity of Phillips 66 and its employees.
In addition, Phillips 66 executive leaders have personally invested their time and talent in advancing our mission, including Phillips 66 Chairman and CEO, Mark Lashier, and retired Phillips Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, Greg Garland. Their thought leadership and dedicated service on our Board of Directors is invaluable. We also thank the many Phillips 66 employees who bring their ‘good energy’ through their service as volunteers in support of our programs.
“Phillips 66 creates purposeful partnerships that identify solutions to society’s greatest challenges, inspire action and improve lives,” said Mark Lashier, Phillips 66 chairman and CEO. “We believe literacy is at the core of individual achievement and our economic future, and we are proud to partner with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation to make an impact on the communities where our employees live and work.”
Phillips 66’s commitment serves as an inspiration to us all, reminding us of the profound difference we can make when we come together with a shared purpose and vision. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Phillips 66 in changing lives and transforming our community through literacy.
